After canceling two Spring Galas and the 2020 production, Shakespeare on the Vine Theatre Company’s 2021 Benefit Show fundraised to enable a full-scale return in 2022 with A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

Give me your hands, friends, and welcome back to Shakespeare on the Vine Theatre Company at Brice Station Vineyards! It is a DREAM (wink!) to return to this property, watch this sunset, and—of course—drink this excellent wine.
Our company has faced challenges since our 2019 production of Macbeth—as have we all. Cancelled fundraisers, actors shifting careers, wildfire threat, rising inflation, and more risked this summer’s show.
Then, the pert and nimble spirit of our Calaveras community, with your generous laughter and your kind donations, guaranteed that our DREAM (wink!) would persevere.
With the money raised during last summer’s Benefit Show, we are bringing you our biggest company of artists ever. Professionals traveling from six states as far as Connecticut, from 7 to 77 years of age, are all met to present this magical comedy and experience the joy this community provides us each summer.
A Midsummer Night’s Dream (wink!) is a story that embraces love and new beginnings. We are excited to begin anew this summer, return to our bold comedic approaches, and discover all this beloved play has to offer. We wish you, and request you, and entreat you to laugh loudly, carouse cheerfully, and give us your hands for a romp through the forest which ends in fairy magic, marriage, and a bit with a dog.
